I began my running career in 6th grade. I was not the best when it came to sports, but I was determined. I learned that cross country is one of the most mentally challenging sports around and if not for my amazing coach and supportive parents I would not be where I am today. As I continued running I saw improvement and grew a love for the sport. Over the years I learned that it takes dedication and persistence to become a great runner. My goal was not only to win against others but to win against myself. Every cross country meet I would set a goal to run faster than the last meet. Over the past 2 years I have surpassed all my goals: 1. Qualify for state in both track and XC. 2. Earn a top 3 medal at state.. I have been working hard every day to be the best runner I can be. Even on days when it is tough I still go out to do my training for the day. I am not only a hardworking athlete but also a dedicated student. In school, I am an All A student who makes sure that work gets done before doing any other activities.
