While I have only competed in track & field for one full track season as a junior, I was able to accomplish a lot in a short time! The most exciting feat of mine is high jump. I was never supposed to compete as high jumper, but my coaches had me try it for fun in practice one day, and it came naturally! Starting late into the track season, just two weeks before the District meet, I began learning the event of high jump. I ended up placing 2nd at district, and advanced to Regionals where I earned 4th place. From there, I competed at the State meet, earning 5th place in all of State after just one month of starting the event of high jump. My PR is 4'10 at this point in time, but I expect to surpass this mark by several inches in the coming track season as I focus on this event more and work on it from start to finish. I was also able to mark a 14ft 11.5in jump in long jump, and 28.4 second time in the 200m. Additionally, I was put on the 4x4 relay team as a last minute decision, and ran the fastest leg on my team as we earned 6th place at the State meet! I truly value being a coachable athlete, working hard, and finding success in competing as an all-around athlete while still working seriously in the classroom, volunteering, and other extracurriculars. My number one goal is to see what else I can accomplish in the realm of track & field, because I can certainly push my limits further and keep marking new PRs after spending more than just one season on this sport!
