I've always wanted to fly. I realized that dream could be a reality when I discovered pole vault.
As a freshman, with only three months of experience under my belt, I went to the state meet for 1A, competing in the new, exciting event, and placing fifth. As a sophomore, I advanced to regionals in five events: long jump, pole vault, 100m hurdles, 800m, and 300m hurdles, advancing to the state meet in 300m hurdles, placing fifth. My aspirations as a college athlete are to break the NCAA record in Pole Vault while also getting my degree. I've always prided myself on my self-motivation and coachability in the classroom and on the track. I have overcome many setbacks to get where I am now. Being a leader comes to me naturally and has since a young age.
I envision myself in a program that challenges me both physically and mentally in a school where I can work hard to achieve my goals.
