Kaitlyn Barber '21 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a Junior at Terrell High School in Terrell, TX and will graduate in 2021.  I am also currently enrolled in dual credit college courses that I began in my freshman year.  Graduation will be in 2021 with an Associates of Arts degree from Trinity Valley Community College.   My interests in school in addition to Track and Field include Band that I've participated in since 6th grade.  In high school, I joined the Student Council and currently serve as the Secretary.  I am also a member of (PALs), Peer Assistance and Leadership organization and Key Club which is a volunteering organization.

I began training and competing in field events during my 7th-grade year at Herman Furlough Middle School in Terrell, TX.  During my time at HFMS, I received an award for Student of Character for Perseverance in April 2016.  I was also involved in Soccer and Basketball in middle school.  

Since competing in high school I have won 1st place for the discus throw at District in both my freshman and sophomore year.  Freshman year I threw for 90'11" and the following year 91'7".

I am the only female that has competed in the discus throw and shot put for the last two seasons.  I look forward to continuing for the next two seasons and to move into competition on the college level.
