I have been running Track and Field ever since I turned 7 the summer after second grade all thanks to my sister Julieta Navarrete-Lamas (THS, SUU). I ran for the Orem Track Club, I was very young and wanted to take my fifth-grade summer off of running but continue the next year indefinitely, although the coach switched from Timpanogos's Coach Jody Benson to Mountain View's Coach Strauss, I was too stubborn to run for anyone but Jody. I had taken those 2 years off but after that, I have run every season of Track and Field and Cross-Country from seventh grade and on with Orem Junior High School and started my high school running journey during the summer before my eighth-grade year before having to return to Orem Junior High School for Cross -Country. That Track and Field season for 8th grade in 2020 was canceled due to COVID-19, but my sister who was home for quarantine had offered to coach me throughout the season with safe track meets that included just the two of us. I ran with Timpanogos High School each summer, Cross-Country Season, and Track and Field Season from then on. Through my high school experience I have been through losing my father in my 2021 Cross-Country season and an Iron deficiency throughout the end of the Track season and the beginning of the Cross-Country season in 2022 without knowing until the middle of the Cross-Country season.
Through my Running experiences, I have found Grit, Perseverance, and Hope no matter if I was alone through the decisions that led to it or not. I love running and have had the goal of running Professionally since I started. This sport has taught me the most because of the Highs and Lows I have been through. I have a somewhat wide range but I am focusing on the 800 and 1600 although I can run the 2k Steeplechase and 400 pretty well. I am planning on running throughout college and professionally to make it to the Olympics and World Championships.
