Winning the Freshman Championships in the 200 meter dash my first year of competing in track has molded me into the student-athlete I am today. That win gave me the personal record I needed to move on to Districts. That experience allowed me to compete against the strongest athletes and gave me the drive and motivation I needed to improve myself.
I now train with three different coaches during the offseason in order to try to learn different techniques to help improve all aspects of my running for the upcoming 2017 Track Season. My most recent unofficial times for the 40, 60, 80, 100, 150, and 300 meters are, 4.6, 8.26, 10.35, 12.6, 17.90, and 46.00. Being only one spot away from going to state last year has motivated me to put in extra work outside of the season. My goal is to make it to State this year.
Running track has taught me how important it is to be committed to your goals and how sacrificing some things will be a worthwhile payoff in the long run. Track has also taught me good work ethics that has also transferred over into my school work. Education is very important to me and I am looking for a program where can fit in as a student-athlete, not just as an athlete. I am focused and driven and nothing more than to be successful. I know I have both the characteristics and skills it takes to compete on a collegiate team and I know if given the opportunity, I will do whatever it takes to be on your team!
