I began to pole vault in the summer of 2018, just before my sophomore year, with no gymnastics background. I officially cleared 11'6 in May of 2020, and I have been extremely close to a 12' clearance in recent practices and meets.
While much of my focus has been dedicated to pole vault, I have seen significant gains in both speed and strength through my consistent off-season training. This spring I was anticipating improving my sprint times, as well as my long and triple jump marks. My coaches have also enthusiastically encouraged me to pursue hurdles. Although the 2020 track and field season has been indefinitely postponed, I have continued with strength and speed workouts 6 days per week.
My most recent fitness testing scores are:
100m - 13.81
Flying 30m - 4.33
Standing broad jump - 2.59m/8'6"
I am an unweighted 4.0 GPA student and I am interested in pursuing math and computer science in college.
