Personal Statement
With a family that is not necessarily easy to deal with for many reasons, I have learned through my years of competing how to channel my emotions and stresses into passion and hard work ethic in my sports. It has taught me how sports are a safe haven for many athletes and how my attitude and leadership can vastly improve their day through a simple two hour workout session.
As the fastest runner for my 4•400 team which placed 2nd at Washington State Meet, I learned about the confidence, sacrifice, and perseverance it takes to go from 6th place to 1st during my leg of the relay. Since my team’s Pre-Lim race didn’t go as planned, it required a lot of encouragement to revive the confidence and trust for success in the rest of my team.
