Personal Statement
I grew up with the dream of competing in track and field in college. From a young age I always knew I was faster than the other kids in my grade. Both of my parents were division I athletes - my mom was a heptathlete, my dad was a wrestler - I knew I wanted to follow in their paths.
My love for track started when I was very young and has stayed with me ever since. I love running fast. But I also love being part of a team and forming bonds with my teammates and coaches. Being a part of a track team has pushed me to work hard and be a great teammate. I push myself to my limits because I want to motivate my teammates to do the same. I quietly lead by example.
I love the team atmosphere. Besides winning my races, and getting new PRs, I love to motivate and support my teammates. This is something I look forward to at the next level - finding a new team, a new family and working together to find success. I am excited about continuing my training so I can become an elite level sprinter.
I am a three sport athlete. I play varsity volleyball (3X All-Conference), varsity basketball and track and field. I maintain a 3.6 GPA. Being a student-athlete has helped me be responsible, organized and ready for college athletics and studies.
