Personal Statement

My core attributes of: organization, passion, and determination have led me to become the athlete, student, and leader I am today. I take initiative in my training and studies by keeping organized through mileage logs and to-do lists. Accordingly, I regularly reach out to my coaches in regards to in and out of season training that ensures I maintain consistency in endurance, strength, nutrition, and hydration to fulfill my passionate goals in running. Such dedication has in turn given me the mental strength to fulfill my capabilities using my developed mental toughness, positivity, and confidence. In distance running, a refined mentality is what has changed me into a stronger racer, both mentally and physically.

With my arms and knees driving forward to my goal, I express the most determined and confident aspects of myself that, in addition, apply to my other variety of passions. My other passions include: volunteering in events with disabled peers through Unified Pals, organizing my creation of the DCE Donation Station which reduces food waste and allows students access to free donated snacks, and achieving academic excellence in rigorous classes through maintaining my 4.0 GPA. My strong passions and character have in turn given me the opportunity to become a cross country team captain which allows me to maintain a positive and productive team environment where we all get the chance to run for a purpose beyond ourselves.  Even as I was pushing through the last mile at the 2022 D1 WIAA State meet, I kept thinking about our team quote, "run for her" which gave me the strength to run for a purpose beyond myself and find the extra passion to take home the individual state title for my teammates, coaches, friends, and family. All in all, running has given me the ability to be the person I aspire to be and allows me to push for my next goal whether it is in running, or using the values running has taught me.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
