I've been in track since 8th grade but only discovered long jump my sophomore year of high school. I have never had a jump specific coach but I am always doing whatever I can on my own to improve my strength and technique. I attended a summer track and field camp and with just a couple hours of help from college athletes I was able to break my PR by a foot, and my lowest jump was only an inch below my previous PR. I am constantly improving and believe I have a lot of potential with the right coaching.
I am well disciplined and enjoy spending my free time doing whatever I can to improve myself, such as by going to the gym and practicing instruments and other skills I would like to use for my career in the future. I am stubborn in what I am passionate about and refuse to give up without trying my hardest, even then I still won't give up.
Not only am I constantly improving myself, but I also give support to both my own team and athletes from other teams too. I am competitive but like to see everyone perform their best.
I have many future goals that most people don't think are possible. I'd like to become a full-time designer and musician while also continuing to jump and possibly coach. I want to prove that even those growing up in a small area with limited opportunities like me can achieve all their goals with hard work. After I achieve my goals I wish to help give others opportunities to achieve theirs too.
Academically, I have a very logical, quick, and understanding way of thinking and learning. I'm not the strongest at keeping my grades up, but that is because I have an honest work ethic and would rather have the consequences of late work and take the time I need to fully understand the material than rush to get it done or cheat.
