Ava Gillis '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ava Gillis and I am a Class of 2024 Libero/defensive specialist. I started playing volleyball at 9 years old and have never looked back. One of my biggest accomplishments is earning the Libero position on my national club team for the past six years. I also was excited to be named to the JVA Watchlist and the AVCA Phenom Watch List. I love being on the court and working as a team with a common goal to not only win but also to encourage each other. My teammates have often told me that they love the energy I bring to the court and the communication that I give throughout each set. I also am a hard worker in the classroom with a 4.13 weighted GPA. My plan is to major in Biology and then attend dental school after I graduate from college.  I am excited to pursue both my academic and athletic goals at the next level.
