My name is Zoe Lakin. I'm 16 and am currently a sophomore at Westminster Christian Academy in Huntsville, AL. I have a very supportive family who love to travel with my sister and I and watch us play our favorite sports. My mother is an artist and my dad is an engineer. My sister plays piano, swims, plays volleyball and travel softball. So we stay very busy.
I am involved in multiple honors classes that challenge me every day. My favorite subjects are art and literature. But I excel in all of my academics. Currently, I’m taking advanced Math and English classes and have A’s in all of my classes. I’m also involved in Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and volunteered to help assist with our middle school volleyball team. I’ve been the setter for our Varsity volleyball team since 7th grade and have been the starting varsity setter since 8th grade. This previous season (2015) I was selected to the All Area tournament team.
Outside of school I am involved in my church youth group and am part of the 161 National Power team with North Alabama Spiker’s Association (NASA) in Huntsville, AL. I've played setter since I was 12. This season I have the opportunity to play Libero. I'm very excited about this transition!
Aside from school and sports, I have many interests. I love to cook, do crafts and read. I especially love to draw and currently hope to major in art. I’d love to be an illustrator one day. But...my absolute favorite thing is VOLLEYBALL. I dream of playing volleyball at the highest level possible. I have worked hard since I was nine years old starting with rec volleyball. I began playing club ball at the age of 12. I’ve been blessed with great coaches and teammates each year. I’ve been told I have great hands and am very ‘scrappy’. I attend very challenging camps during the summer between travel and school ball to work to improve my skills.
