An open letter defining Ansley Pack, 13 years of age, from a small town in Northern Alabama from the view of her mother.
Ansley is a shy, hardworking, competitive, very coachable child. She does well in school and accelerates at many sports. From the time she was 5 yrs old she has played softball. Starting out with rec teams, moving to travel ball, and currently she is a starter on her JV team for school ball at West Limestone High School.
Her love for volleyball started just two short years ago. She tried out for the Middle School team, made it, and fell in love. Her first season she quickly took the lead as middle hitter & started for Middle School, Junior Varsity, & received lots of playing time on the Varsity Team. From there she decided that she wanted more. She was eager to learn new skills to help her always having playing time so we joined the United Volleyball Club for travel ball. Are acceptance in the club was after they had already selected teams for tryouts.
Fast forwarding to today. Ansley has since tryout out for the 14U Club team again and was selected to be on the Athens Black 14U Power Squad. We are going into our second tournament of the season in Franklin TN over the weekend. Our season opening tournament near Atlanta, GA we walked away as silver bracket champions. I would say a day in Ansley's world normally consist of school, softball until 5pm, then volleyball from 7pm-9pm three to four days a week. She understands that nothing is given to her and that it takes a lot in today's world to actually earn something.
Thank you for your time,
Tiffany Pack
