Learning the 7 C’s to build a winning team, taught by my high school coach, has been my mission; Commitment, Coach able, Communication, Caring, Consistency, Contagious energy and Character. My strengths are Commitment, being coach able, character and great communicator on and off the court. I knew since the age of 10 my dream was to play volleyball in college, it has taken a lot of commitment and good life lessons along the way, this is what has helped me be the person I am today on and off the court. July 2014, I ruptured my ligaments on my left ankle while attending a volleyball camp after healing from that surgery, I ruptured 3 of the ligaments on my right ankle and had another surgery. My third surgery came right before club tryouts in 2016, I was in ATV accident, had plate and screws put into my collarbone. Throughout this experience I missed a high school season, and 1.5 club seasons. This tested me and my commitment to the 7 C’s. I could’ve easily stopped playing however, it made me a fighter, who has more dedicated to the sport then most, I have had to over-come the muscle loss, the depression of not playing, and a lot of extra practice and training to get my skills up to speed to achieve my goal of playing in college. I have learned how to support my team while on the bench and on the court. I bring a presence on the court of leadership, I show this through communication, compassion, encouragement, leading by example, teamwork, skill and positive attitude.
My goals are continuing with my high school volleyball career where I can learn from my teammates and coaches, continue to work on my skills, continue with strength training and learn adaptability all while continuing to focus on my grades and getting my GPA higher, I am proud of the honors classes and education I am receiving that will help me with my career choice of phycology. I want to find the right college where my academic goals can be achieved at a place that is the right fit for me and where I can commit to helping a women’s volleyball team be a stellar team.
