My name is Alexa Spartz. I've been in athletic activities since the age of four. I recently retired from being an aggressive gymnastics career spanning twelve years, and finished as a Level 9 gymnast! Before retiring from gymnastics, I was investing 25-35 hours per week into sports—between practice and competition—including beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, crossfit, and strength and agility programs.
During the past four seasons, I have played volleyball, and it has become one of my greatest passions. I have been told that I am a very versatile player and have covered multiple positions. This would allow coaches to utilize my talent in different avenues of the game. My goal is to play in college that I might further develop my abilities. After so many years of constant and consistent team and individual challenges, I feel comfortable in stating that I am uniquely capable of cooperation as well as personal achievement. I see everything, from uneven bars to an incoming serve, as a task to be addressed, and I address each task head on.
I am as devoted to my schooling as I am to my sports. I take AP and Honors classes to maintain my high GPA while also putting in numerous hours for the sports I play. I believe that being strong at the one makes me even more able at the other.
I am a very teachable player who has the competitive drive and extreme motivation coaches are best able to mold and apply. I am very much a team player, and my attitude on and off the court is always positive. Being in multiple sports has taught me to be a well-rounded athlete, how to deal with adversity, and generally how to be a better person. I credit sports with strengthening my mental toughness, and pushing me to maintain high levels of discipline throughout my life.
I am eager to learn and look forward to meeting the college coaches and to see how I might fit into their program. My purpose is to find the college that gives me the best opportunity for my future career in playing as a Libero position or pursue beach opportunity but will play any positions that the team/coach needs for their program! This will allow me to play at the most competitive level and help me become the best student-athlete for the school!
