While my parents named me Elizabeth, everyone calls me Biz. I weigh approximately 145 lbs. and am the tallest girl in my school at 6' tall. I consider myselfvery athletic, quick, agile, and coachable, knowing that I have still have much to learn and plenty of room for growth.
My first two years of high school, I was a 3-sport, varsity letterman (volleyball, basketball and softball). The spring of my junior year, I chose to not play softball so that I could instead play on a Club Volleyball team in Las Vegas, Nevada. This requires me to drive 2-hours one way, two or three times a week for practice; most week-ends find me traveling with my team to Southern California for various tourmanemts (we play in the Southern California Volleyball Association.) Despite the long hours on the road -- it is so worth it because I am doing what I love!
From an early age, I have loved sports. In my early years, I played ASA softball, AYSO Soccer and Boys/Girls Club Basketeball; unfortunately, there is no youth volleyball close to my home. As a high school student, I have enjoyed success with my varsity sports: varsity starter in three sports since my freshman year; received Honorable Mention All -Region my freshman and sophomore year in volleyball; 1st team All- Conference/Region in basketball; and Honorable Mention All-Region in softball. I have been a co-captain in volleyball for two years and have been a captain in basketball for two years.
My parents are both educators (my dad teaches high school science and my mom is an elementary principal) and they haveprovided me with strong values, and work ethics. They have always pushed me into activities that help develop leardership skills and community service. I was Sophomore Class President and am currently Student Body Secretary at River Valley High School. During the summer of my sophomore year, I attended the Hugh O'Brian Youth Conference (HOBY). In addition, I volunteer during the holidays to ring the bell for our local Salvation Army and help pack food/gift baskets. I also spend time at a local elementary reading to students and have been a youth official for AYSO Soccer.
I have been fortunate to spend most of my summers and even some winter breaks, visiting family in Montana and Colorado. Even though I have lived my entire life in the middle of the Mohave Desert, I enjoy the cold weather elements (snow) -- I am open to attending college anywhere where I am able to play at a high level and achieve my academic goals.
I consider myself a harder worker; if I am having a difficult day at practice, you will see me staying after to continue working until I feel that I have succeeded. I have drive, commitment, determination and have knew early on in my childhood that I want to play sports at the college level.
My career goals include PT (phyisical therapists) or forensics (criminal science.)
In closing, my athletic goals include playing at the highest competition level possible, helping to make an impact on any team that can benefit from my strong leadership and desire to succeed, while also focusing on gaining the necessary academics needed for future career success.
