Here’s the revised personal statement for Kai-Lee Cordova, incorporating her contributions as a sophomore and her experience as a multi-sport athlete:
Personal Statement
My name is Kai-Lee Cordova, and I am excited to share my collegiate goals and aspirations with you. As a dedicated and passionate athlete, I aspire to earn a degree in elementary education while continuing to play volleyball at the collegiate level. My journey in volleyball began at a young age, inspired by my mother’s coaching of middle school teams. This early exposure not only ignited my love for the sport but also instilled in me the importance of teamwork and leadership.
Throughout my volleyball career, I have played various positions, including setter, outside hitter, defensive specialist, and libero for my high school varsity team. As a sophomore, I stepped up to help lead our young team, offering guidance and support to my teammates as we navigated the challenges of competition together. Additionally, my experience with travel teams such as GVJ and my current team, AZ3, in the Champion division has allowed me to hone my skills and adapt to different playing styles.
In addition to volleyball, I am also a multi-sport athlete, playing softball. Balancing two sports has taught me valuable time management skills and the importance of dedication, which I apply both on the field and in the classroom. I am committed to hard work and continuous improvement, which is reflected in my academic performance as I maintain strong grades while juggling sports and school.
My resilience and ability to overcome challenges set me apart from other recruits. My team has faced several controversies, but together, we have emerged stronger, which has significantly contributed to my growth as both a person and a player. I believe my experience in navigating these challenges has equipped me with a unique perspective to bring to a collegiate team.
I am eager to compete at the next level and confident that my dedication, work ethic, and positive attitude will make me a valuable addition to your program. I am not only committed to my success but also to the success of my teammates. I look forward to contributing to your team's achievements while pursuing my educational goals.
Thank you for considering my application. I am excited about the possibility of joining your team and contributing to a positive and competitive environment.
Kai-Lee Cordova
