Personal Statement

Volleyball has been more than a sport to me—it’s a core part of who I am and how I approach life’s challenges. I began playing as a setter in 8th grade, quickly discovering a love for guiding my team and anticipating the game’s every move. For three years, setting taught me to think quickly and strategize, yet as I matured as a player, I found myself naturally drawn to the libero position. Moving into the libero role wasn’t just a positional change; it was a shift that deepened my dedication to supporting my teammates and controlling the court’s momentum.

On the court, I’ve learned the importance of resilience and adaptability, especially through the demands of being a libero where every dig or pass sets the tone for success. This adaptability has served me well off the court too, as I strive for academic excellence and hope to pursue a degree in business or engineering in college. I’ve faced setbacks, including adjusting to a new position and learning to lead from the back row, but these experiences have only strengthened my commitment. I bring a unique blend of leadership, strategic vision, and defensive tenacity—qualities I’m excited to further develop at the collegiate level.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
