Hello Coaches! My name is Victory M. Kramer and I am a 2023 graduate from North Vancouver, BC Canada. I have been playing a huge variety of sports for as long as I can remember. Though I still am actively playing a numerous amount of sports, I know that I would love to have a future within volleyball and continue to pursue my love for that sport as I head to post-secondary. Throughout the years I've played sports, I've always seemed to have a different connection with volleyball.
I was and still am very dedicated to putting in the time and hours of always finding a way to get better and improve myself no matter what. As much as my own coaches and parents continue to tell me that I have majorly improved from beforehand, I will always make room for improvement. I have been playing volleyball for almost 7 years now and have constantly been training and exercising at long hours that I now know it takes hard work, discipline, and many hours of training to get better. Even the best of the best athletes still continue to train and I know that if I want to continue pursuing my future in volleyball, I have to also do the same. I have grown to become an athlete who I know that'll continue to discipline myself to get better each way and learn to overcome the future obstacles that come my way.
Not only am I committed to always finding a way to improve my skills, but I too also care about my team regardless the sport I'm playing. The first thing I know when it comes to volleyball and really any other sport is teamwork and I have always made sure that each and every one of my teammates feel welcome. Regardless the fact that everyone wants to get better and also focus on what they want to pursue during their next upcoming game, I always make sure that my teammates can also have a safe place around one another. Though I may not always be outspoken, I know that I am someone who will always put others ahead too. I focus on not only being a great teammate but also a role model for those around me. I want to make sure that whether a teammate of mine is struggling, I will be there for them and to help them or even whether it's the opposing team and someone may have gotten injured, I again will be there to check up on them and ensure that they are okay.
I too have had many opportunities to play team captain. Many of the main qualities of becoming or being a great team captain is putting the team first, leading by example, being a great role model, spreading positivity, embodying the core values of the team, working hard, and last but not least, always being there for their team. Though I know there is much more I could add to what it takes for being a great captain, I believe that I show these qualities regardless when I'm on or off the court.
I currently play middle hitter and though I know myself to not be the tallest, fastest, or best player, I wont ever let that be an obstacle that stops me from playing the sport I love. I will continue to always work hard, have self discipline, and not only have time to do the sport I love very much but also maintaining that healthy balance of keeping up the same effort towards my school studies. I believe that I'm a very dedicated athlete and student and hope to prove that you.
Thank you for your time!
