My name is Elenore Nguyen, but everyone calls me Ellie. I would love to compete in both Volleyball and Track & Field at a four-year university while studying Biology. I am highly interested in Christian Universities, but am keeping my options open to where God wants to use me. Eventually, I want to become a dentist or orthodontist.
I started both my sports pretty late (club volleyball in 8th grade and track in 9th), but I caught on quickly, and love competing and improving. It's fun to use my jumping ability and quickness in both sports. Freshman year, I competed in high jumping and hurdles at the varsity level (division 1), capturing fourth place in league for the high jump. This year, sophomore year, I was moved up to Varsity Volleyball at Glendora High School. We're competing in CIF for division 2 Southern Section. After that, I'll be competing on the 16U National team at Pacific Juniors while participating in my second year of Varsity track at GHS.
I think it's rare for a team to have a tall, half-Vietnamese girl who can jump and move well. I am light on my feet and many comment on my "hang time". Track helps keep me in shape and agile. Being a good student is also important because you do better in sports when you're a hard worker and quick thinker. Most importantly, I always get along well with other girls and coaches because I am open to all types of people and enjoy getting to know them.
Thanks for viewing my profile! Hope to hear from you soon.
