A small school can make you or break you. My 8th grade graduating class was only 15 people, so naturally our athletics was not top notch. I wouldn't let it break me. That just meant I had to work harder to secure my starting position on my highly competitive ranked high school team, all while working my way back from a broken ankle I suffered late in my basketball season. I could have gone to a small high school and started as a Varsity player, but I didn't want to back down from a challenge that would ultimately help me grow as a player and as a person. This has also given me a drive to want to compete at the highest levels, not only in athletics but also in academics and in my service to others. In addition to volleyball, my passions include my education and my role as worship leader at my church. Whether I'm serving on the court or serving others, I give everything I have to be the best I can be for my team and for others.
Juggling athletics, academics, and service has taught me the value of commitment, sacrifice, teamwork, and leadership in order to prepare me for my future as a student-athlete, and ultimately a successful adult out in the workforce. I am looking for a program that will utilize and help further develop my skills as a player and as a person. I value the educational and life experiences, as well as the athletic experiences, I am receiving both now and in the future. I am confident that I not only have the talent to compete for a college team but also the drive, work-ethic, and character, and leadership skills to contribute to any program in a significant way. Just as I helped lead my Freshman team to a one-loss championship season, I can help lead any team to achieve victory.
