Hello,
I have been competing in many different sports since the age of 8. I played every sport offered at my grammar school. I love sports, and I am very competitive. I first began playing club volleyball in the seventh grade. After experiencing my first tournament, I was hooked. I knew that volleyball was all I wanted to do. A skill that I possess is the ability to quickly adapt to my surroundings in whatever I am doing, whether it be in a game or at practice. The more challenging the the situation, the better I perform. I have learned many life lessons through volleyball. Volleyball has taught me the importance of team work and leadership. I've learned that I am a natural leader, but being a natural leader isn't good enough. Natural leaders have skills that need to be honed through practice just like volleyball skills. Being a leader means that I have a responsibility to inspire and encourage others to focus and be the best that they can be on and off the court. I am currently the captain of both my high school and club teams. My goal is to reach the next level of volleyball by competing at the collegiate level.
In regards to my academics, as a freshman, I was a 4.0 student, and as a sophomore I have a 4.33 GPA. My goal is to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Economics followed by a Masters degree. One of the major obstacles I've had to overcome is learning to balance the work load of a student and the rigors of being an athlete. Because of my competitiveness and work ethic, I have overcome that challenge.
