I am fortunate to have been exposed to volleyball in elementary school, but I didn't take it to the next level until I started playing club ball in 2019. The club game led me to enjoy the sport even more! Now, I like the challenge of moving from my high school team in the fall to club ball in the winter and spring, learning how to best use my skills as a setter for the individual players on these different teams. Throughout my years of playing, I've learned that I tend to lead by example. I'm vocal when I need to be (especially when a captain), but I let my actions in practice and games motivate others. I was surprised and humbled when my varsity high school team voted me team MVP as a freshman this year. I simply try to be seen as a coachable player who is a supportive teammate and hard worker.
For college, I am looking first for a good academic fit. My parents have always stressed my school studies, but I sincerely want to combine my love for volleyball with an excellent education. I strive to keep myself well-rounded by playing other sports in high school, and I try to remain grounded through a life that isn't only about sports.
