My name is Jordan Webb, I am a 6'2, OH/OPP who attends Ernest McBride High School in Long Beach, CA class of 2018. I attend a school that focuses strictly on academics, therefore sports is not offered so I play volleyball through club at one of the most competitive clubs in California, T-street Volleyball Club. I am an experienced player who has worked on their skill set for eight years. As a player who started playing at the age of eight with Long Beach Mizuno Volleyball Club, still at 16 years old I love the sport. During my eight years, I have played every position on the court and its made me a very versatile player.
What makes me different from others is my quality of multi-talent on and off the court. In volleyball, my experience allows me to make good judgement; my knowledge allows me to make important decisions; my skills allow me to play any position well; and my body build allows me to have a presence back row and front row. My versatility doesn't restrict me to one job, instead it enables me to have multiple jobs on the court making me a hard competitor to defeat physically and mentally. Off the court, my achievements in school show my focus and hard-work in which I involve myself in extracurricular activities, and many leadership opportunities. I'm a player who knows what it's like to be placed under pressure and stress. I know what it's like to be very much involved in both school and sports, while dedicating effort in both. Also, I can multitask, and adapt to every situation. Most importantly, I know what's it's like to be a student athlete, what's expected of one, and how to perform as both.
I'm an extremely determined, and driven athlete who cares a lot about this sport. My goal is to play volleyball at a competitive, collegiate level where I can showcase my best qualities at a school that allows me to strive on the court and in the classroom. I wish to belong to a program that pushes me beyond my limits in all aspects; physically, academically, and personally. What I want most is to continue to play the sport that I love as well as obtaining a great education at a University that allows me to major in Political Science or Pre-Law.
If one could describe me they would say I'm an intelligent, ambitious, resilient, serious, and charismatic teen. My friends would say I'm an overachiever, my parents would say I'm a go-getter and my teammates would say I'm supportive but at the same time a competitor. Outside school and off the court I love to help others and feel that being kind is one best trait one could have. Everyday I make it my goal to change the world in some kind of way. Whether it's tutoring with my National Honors Society group, or spending a day at a Women's shelter with my Young Women's Leadership Club I feel as if I try to use my time wisely and make it a priority to bring some type of global change. At McBride, our school is split into three different pathways: Health & Medical, Engineering and Criminal Justice Investigation. Being in the CJI pathway, I'm interested in the field of law and politics. Everyday I'm fortunate enough to learn about the legal field and the opportunities I'm given in terms of being apart of The Mock Trial Team and Teen Court.
