Leah Van Wyngarden '24 Recruiting Profile

My dream is to be a libero for a D1 or D2 college. I have the quick reflexes a libero requires, as well as the determination to do whatever it takes to keep the ball off the floor! I have quick feet and a strong platform and I am very vocal on the court. I also love being a DS, and have a great vertical which allows me to attack from the back row. One of my strengths is my serve, which often is my way of helping my team get some extra points when we are down. I have also been an emergency setter for our high school team, and led us to win the NorCal Divon IV  Section Championships in 2021. In 2022, and again in 2023, my high school team went even further and won the California Division 3 State Championships! I finished 3rd in the state and 13th in the nation for aces, according to Max Preps.  My high school coach describes me as "Bold" and says that her favorite thing about me is that I support my teammates and that I always strive to do what is best for the team.   I hope to study  Business at a college with a great volleyball team and coach!
