Volleyball has been a big part of my life ever since I was eleven. The gym has been like a second home to me. Since I was twelve I've been a setter and I love it. In my first year of setting my coach told me that he put me as a setter because he believed that I had a deep understanding of the game and everything that was happening. As a setter, I've learned many lessons on the court. On the court, I have to be a positive outlet who celebrates and helps my teammates, have a competitive spirit, push myself and others to be our best, understand everything that's happening and make decisions, and all while being confident in myself and my abilities. Off the court, I've learned to be patient and mindful of situations, analyze and understand a situation before acting on something, and working through the hardest of times allowing myself to rely on others and for them to rely on me if they need it.
During the 2021 season, I have been balancing my 5th year of club volleyball at the same time as my 2nd year of varsity high school volleyball and have been a 5-1 setter for both teams.
I have a major competitive spirit that has been shaped overtime by coaching to be positive and helpful on the court for me and my teammates. I value grades a lot and my parents and I both believe they are extremely important. As much as I value grades, I also value trying my hardest and learning lessons from everything I do so I can learn and improve. This is something I bring into volleyball as well. I will always try my hardest no matter the result because that is how I will improve and become the best player I can. I also hope to bring this learning mindset into college volleyball.
