Transferring to IMG Academy’s U16 team as a 15 year old freshman in 2023 was the best college prep that I could ever have imagined. As a boarding student, we practice volleyball five days a week (AM), as well as devote time to strength and conditioning, speed and agility, and mental conditioning, all with access to trainers and medical professionals. The second half of the day is devoted to academics, which in my case is mostly AP and honors classes. The campus is comparable to many colleges, with the exception that all students are athletes.
As a Libero that is playing up, I'm have learned to adapt to stronger and bigger competitors, as well as a much quicker ball. In the 2024/25 season, I will play U17 as a Sophomore, having a wealth of experience to draw upon.
Consistent with the college prep theme, I should note that our team travels and stays together, with coaches monitoring curfews and wake-up calls, as well as all meals, snacks, etc. To say that we are ready for college life when we graduate would be an understatement!
