Hi Coaches! My name is Uma Lambertini Fajer, I'm a 15-year-old rising sophomore at IMG Academy, and volleyball is my entire world. It’s more than just a sport. It’s a dream I’ve dedicated my life to chasing, even moving countries to make it happen. I’ve lived all over the world, from Mexico City to California to Spain. I currently live in Florida attending IMG Academy, which quickly has become one of my favorite homes. Moving around so much and experiencing so many cultures has given me a unique perspective, adaptability, and an appreciation for life, all of which I bring to every team I’m a part of.
When I was little, I was that kid who was always running around, full of energy, curiosity, and excitement for life. But... I was also the kid who could never sit still. My parents didn’t know what to do with me; I was a nightmare, so they put me in sports, praying that it would burn off some of that energy. I tried pretty much everything. From ballet, gymnastics, soccer, basketball, you name it, there's a likely chance that I've tried it. Unfortunately for my parents, nothing clicked despite all their efforts. That changed the day I discovered volleyball.
From the moment I stepped onto the court at 12, I was hooked. I’ve worked so hard at it, pouring everything I’ve got into every game and practice. It’s not just a sport to me. It’s my passion, my outlet, and a huge part of who I am. The same energy and drive that led me to volleyball are what push me to always give 100% in every aspect of my life to this day. Volleyball hasn't just made me a hard worker but has turned me into a young woman who lifts others up and brings everything I have, on and off the court!
