Hi, I’m Carlee Groeneveld and my love of volleyball started in elementary school and has followed me throughout my life. However, a newfound love of basketball took my time during my middle school and Freshmen year of high school. I continued to play school volleyball and didn’t participate in club until Sophomore year. Once I had a taste of club, I knew which sport was the one for me.
Academically, I was enrolled in honors and AP courses. I carried a 4.5 weighted GPA and I was top 10 of my graduating class. I was the Student Government Ambassador for Mariner High School. I was also in National Honor Society (NHS), National Art Honor Society (NAHS), and National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). I was the Treasurer of a fairly new club Mariner Manuscripts, where we created a literary art magazine and published the works of the artists in my school.
Outside of school I used to have an organization, Have A Ball (HAB), where I collected new or used sporting equipment and donated it to underprivileged kids. I started this organization in 8th grade as an IB project, where it has only grown. As of my Junior year in high school, I was able to reach outside of my community and donate basketballs, soccer balls, and footballs to a mission in Haiti.
Right now, I am a freshman in college at South Florida State College. I plan to finish my two years here before transferring to another school to get my Masters degree.
Thank you for checking my profile and I hope to pursue college volleyball for my last two years and pursue a career in Sports Marketing or as a Principal.
