Amber Stout '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi!
I am Amber Stout! I am going to be a Junior at school this year. This is going be my 8th year in playing volleyball and 6th year in playing club. I will also be the starting setter for this year's high school varsity team. I would love to play volleyball in college, but also get a good education as well. I would like to study criminology or communications in college. I have a 4.2 Cumulative GPA and in all Honors classes, as well as 2 Advanced Placement classes 
This past year and the year before, I was awarded a Coach's Award for the Volleyball season. Coach's Award means that you are a player who is coachable, always ready to play any position, and very hardworking. As setter, I am the quarterback of the team. I know how to handle the pressure and the intense work this position calls for. I am a consistent setter with a wide aspect of the game. I am able to play defense very well. 
I am now playing for the Florida Suns Volleyball Club. I am playing for the 18 Black (National) Team. Our club director Jim McHugh has been playing for his whole life, and has now put that all into learning. He has helped me tremendously in my setting and all around play on the court.
Even though players like me may come from a Class 2A school, this does not mean that they are not just as good as players as an 8A school. I believe that if you want to play in college you will no matter what division it maybe. My head coach for high school is Deborah Rantin and the assistant coach is Justin Rantin. They both have been playing volleyball their whole lives and know the game very well. 
My preferred majors are Biology or Criminology. Those sound like 2 completely different things, but I favor them both very much. I work very hard to get excellent grades because I know that will help me not only in college but also in the real world.
