Personal Statement
Volunteering for Special Olympics is what I spend most of my free time outside of volleyball. In the beginning of July, my unified team went to Seattle for nationals. A unified team is where people without and intellectual disability play along side those with an intellectual disability. Special Olympics has humbled me into accepting those with any background or disability.
My love for volleyball has prompted me to volunteer at volleyball camps for younger athletes. I have shown many kids the fundamentals of the sport and adding on to what they already know. The camps have shed the light on leadership skills and the ability to teach others.
