Personal statement
I started playing volleyball when I was 8. I started off with doing Friday practices and then moved on to regular club because my parents wanted me to do a sport. Ever since my first official club practice, I fell in love with the sport. Throughout the years of playing I have learned how to become a team player, listen to criticism, and become a leader. These skills have helped me on and off the court. In school, I strive to be the best student that I can be. I take my academics very seriously and try to learn as much as I can. When I'm on the court I try to motivate everyone and hold people accountable. Whether that's by example or verbally explaining. This past high school season I was selected for the PCAC honorable mention team (south county). Volleyball is the only sport that I have truly committed to because it was the only sport that has kept me interested. For me, working hard is something that I can always control. If I'm having a bad game or a bad practice, I try to keep in mind that as long as I'm working hard, and trying my best, there is nothing else that I can do. I hope to bring my strong work ethic and love for the game to a great College or University.
