Mattea Casale '25 Recruiting Profile

I am a student in the classroom and of the game of volleyball.  I study for hours at home and in school.  I take my role as a student very seriously as I know that academics come first in being a STUDENT-ATHLETE!  I know that playing a sport is a blessing and that at any moment, that gift can be taken away!  Study hard, play hard, prepare for the future!

I got a bit of a late start in the volleyball world compared to many of my peers.  I played for my grade school and was exposed to a season of club volleyball when COVID hit.  I branched into the Beach Volleyball world while we were shut down.  I have studied the game watching hours of college/olympic volleyball to learn the game.  I watch back my film and critique my film after every game.  

I started off as an outside hitter.  Last year, I was put into the role of libero to better our Club Team.  I have continued to learn and adapt to my new role as libero.  I am quick on my feet and cover a lot of ground on the court.  If I am on the court, there is no ball that isn't playable until the whistle blows!  I will continue to get better, just continue to watch me grow!!
