Gia Kashyap '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Gia Kashyap. I have always been fascinated by how the human brain works. So, I have attended a summer course on Neuroscience and Psychology at UC Berkeley this summer. After completing this course, I can say that I would like to pursue a Bachelor of Sciences in Cognitive Science or Human Factors or Psychology.

As for volleyball, I would be a great player for the following reasons: 

I play volleyball because I love the sport. Contributing to the team and the games makes me really happy. 

I am good at growing relationships with my teammates. I listen, understand and speak for the team. I know how to handle situations under extreme pressure and stay calm. I have always tried to bring people to a consensus when there are conflicts and indecisions. 

My coaches have told me multiple times that I keep the positive energy up and encourage my teammates to stay motivated. My JV coach last season said that when I'm on the court I'm 110% focused and that she can always count on me.

Also, I'm the only Indian girl in my circle of family and friends who plays volleyball and that gives me a great sense of accomplishment!
