Hello my name is Malia Luis-Mateo and I currently attend Saint Francis School, we have held the DII state championship title for the past two years now. I was honored to be apart of the starting 6 as an outside hitter in that championship game. I have been apart of the varsity volleyball program since sophomore year who I was coached under Sonja Samsonas and her staff.
After school volleyball I make a transition in to club volleyball, This club season I continued playing at Imi'ike but this year as a Libero. Being that I played outside as an all around player playing in the back row wasn't to much of a change, but before this season I was a Setter since I was about 12 years old and I started that out here at Imi'ike as well. I was honored to be coached this year under Robyn Ah-Mow Santos and Aneli Ortenero, I learned great things this year that are greatly helping me out while I'm playing School volleyball.
I also play beach volleyball, I have been doing this for over 3 years now, I play down at Queens beach down in Waikiki. I enjoy playing beach it helps a lot with my speed as well as my vertical being that I am an Outside hitter during school season.
Aloha for taking the time to look at my profile!
