This 2018 volleyball season was a roller coaster, we recently got a new head coach so it was a struggle. We made it to OIAʻs but lost and placed 2nd in OIAʻs, but that humbled me to work better and push harder and move on from OIAʻs and focus on states. Coming off of a loss to a team that we shouldʻve beat is hard but it just made me realize that we need to all do our part as a team to come together especially off of a loss. As a libero I took it upon myself to talk to the 5 other girls with me on the court when we got down and when we were in a bad situation that we need to just calm down and one point at a time. Going into states we won all our games and came face to face with a tough team, we didn't come out with the results that we hoped, but at the end of the game I knew I gave it my all, coaches were telling me that I had some amazing digs and passes and that was just an amazing feeling. We played for 3rd in the state and lost but coming off of that loss I just took this offseason as a chance to strengthen and get better at the Libero position and working on quickness and reaction and strengthening everything to be ready for next year.
I was fortunate enough to get honorable mention this 2018 season girls volleyball season. Aside from volleyball my academics are very good. Especially during season we have to keep grades up so during season I managed a 3.8 and then after season I just kept maintaining my grades. After season I made sure to just focus on school and work hard in the classroom because when it comes to college Iʻm going to have to keep up with school work and maintain all Aʻs. What I learned this year is that commitment, sacrifice, hardwork, and humbleness is a key component in order to make it further in anything.
