My name is Kilinoelehua Helm or “Kili“ for short. I am a junior (class of 2023) at Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. Volleyball has been a passion of mine since I was 10 years old and has become an integral part of my high school life. My career aspiration is to enter the health field: athletic training, physical therapy, or dermatology. I am also interested in criminology and completed a dual-credit college course in this field of study. To achieve my career goal I must attend college, but as the cost increases, my parents are challenged with affording a post-secondary education for me and my brother. As such, I am dedicating myself to becoming a student-athlete and elite, all-around volleyball player to earn academic and athletic scholarships to attend college.
Coaches and teammates recognize me for my confident, yet fun attitude. This mindset makes me a strong player on the court, but an even better person off the court as I collaborate well with others to build positive relationships in this team sport. I have worked diligently with a trainer, my coaches, and attend clinics to improve my skills to become a well-rounded player, and hope to demonstrate this via my NCSA profile.
In July 2021, my club team ('Eleu - Blues) placed 5th at the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada. This was our first competitive tournament since 2019 due to the pandemic and gathering restrictions here in Hawaiʻi. My most recent video captures highlights from the 15 National division pool play and quarter final matches, as well as my versatility on the court.
Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. Mahalo and stay safe.
