Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Brianna Youngstrom, I am 18 years old. I am a 2019 graduate transfer setter. I attended Emmett High School, in Emmett, Idaho. I have been a starter and a primary setter and defensive player. I played club for 5 years now. My parents have definitely influenced me the most by pushing me everyday to get better. The first time I picked up a ball I was 8 and in that moment I knew volleyball was going to be one of the most important things in my life, and from that moment forward, it was. Playing volleyball has taught me that you cant be playing to make yourself better and to make yourself happy to win. There are 5 other people out there on the court with you and people on the sidelines cheering and watching you and you have to be able to want it for them more than anything else. Volleyball has taught me to push myself and persevere farther than I thought I could because I had a goal, and pushing myself to the limits isn't anything compared to the feeling when I accomplish the goal I had set for myself. I have also played Softball and Basketball and enjoyed both of them very much and still play them today whenever I get the chance. I have participated in multiple clubs through the years such as; Current Education Chair for the Biology Club, IDFY(Idaho Drug Free Youth), FCCLA( Family, Career, Community Leaders of America), 4H( Cooking and Sewing), and my high schools drag racing team. Playing volleyball in college has been my ultimate goal that I have been striving for since I was a little girl and I know I have the drive to accomplish it. I have great leadership skills and have a great mentality when it comes to bringing my teams spirit and energy up. I love being the loudest person on the court and I always believe in my teammates more than anything.
