Personal Statement

I am a right-handed setter but I can also adapt to play any position on the court.

I currently have a 4.0 GPA and have taken many technical application classes at Meridian Technical Charter High school. I’ve played on the Mountain View volleyball team for two years (Fr., Soph.), and I currently play for the Club Idaho Volleyball  18 Premier (3 seasons [15’s, 16’s, 17’s]).  This season I have currently been to the Volleyball MLK Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sports have played a major part in my life since I can even remember. I first started playing sports with soccer then transitioned to basketball, track and then volleyball by 7th grade. I am an athlete that attends Meridian Technical Charter High school and I have been able to still take a dual credit course and be successful with managing my time and grades. This year my Advanced Pre-Calculus dual credit class is being provided through the College of Western Idaho. I am involved in many leadership clubs including National Technical Honor Society, Sources of Strength, and SkillsUSA (training programs in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations).

Throughout my athletic career, I have always faced adversity by others tell me I can't do something or that I'm just not good enough. I have learned to be a positive team leader through these trials.  I am grateful for these experiences as they’ve allowed me to grow into the person I am today.

Concerning Volleyball, I wish to play for college after I graduate high school and continue my studies. I have a long road ahead of me but I know that with hard work and effort it is possible.
