Velia Ruzic '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello! 

My name is Velia Ruzic, I’m a junior at St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, IL and will be graduating in 2024. I was born to Croatian parents in Germany, where I lived and finished my first years of elementary school, and have lived in the USA since 2014. I’m very keen and love languages. I speak English, German, Croatian and some Spanish. My intent is to take Speech Language Pathology as a major so I can help people with any disorders. I currently have a 4.03 gpa and continue to work hard on and off the court. I started playing Basketball when I was in 5th grade and switched to Volleyball after 2 years. Since then I have been playing Volleyball in school and club. We moved in July 2021 from PA to IL, and after settling in I started playing Volleyball at St. Viator for highschool and have started this club season off at MOD. I used to play middle on my highschool team and I am currently a right side/opposite. I’m seeking for a college where I can combine my desired major with my passion for Volleyball.
