2020 Highlights2021-2022: As a Junior, the idea of being a year away from college has opened up so many opportunities for me I never thought I would have. Since I’ve been interacting with college coaches and recruiters for two years now, I feel as though I’ve come to understand myself better as a player and a student. My goal now is to play volleyball in college at the highest level I can reach, and get into a school that can provide me with a good pre medical education.
Playing on varsity for two years now, I realized how hard I have to work to get to the same level as other girls. Being a middle hitter at 6’0” I take pride knowing that I worked hard to become a starter on my high school team, and have created some amazing highlights in my position. My sophomore year especially, I had to fight for my spot on the team. My coach moved me to right side about half way through the season, and I knew I had to pick up the pace to get that spot in the middle over a senior and a 6’1” player. I was able to adjust, and played right side for the majority of my sophomore year, but then came back my junior year and became a starting middle. No matter where I’m placed, I know I can make the most of it and make my coaches and team proud.
On and off the court, I have always been a very positive person. I knew when I started getting serious about volleyball that challenging situations are unavoidable. However, I have always been all about cheering others up, owning up to my own mistakes, and playing because it’s what I love. Volleyball has become a major part of my life and I hope to get the opportunity to show college coaches that as well.
