During my years of playing volleyball, I have learned I must always work hard in order to develop my skills. However, the most important lesson came this year, the beginning of my Junior year. I have played outside hitter my entire high school career, until this year when my coach asked me to move to middle hitter. At first I was unsure, but I caught on quickly and became eager to learn more about my new position. I embraced the change and challenge and asked coach for extra help and committed time outside of practice to help me learn my new position. This taught me the importance of individual sacrifice for the good of the team. This experience has also given me confidence in my ability to be a very versatile player and I am willing to try new things. I hope to find the right program and college that fits my needs, both academically and athletically.
