Emily Holbrook '19 Recruiting Profile

"Work hard dream big" is the motto that I live by.  I am the type of player that wants the ball in difficult game situations, focused on every ball, and executing to the very end.  I play like I practice, hard.  I am the quickest player on the court as I draw from my Varsity track experience. 

Watching my future high school's volleyball team compete in the IHSA state playoffs at a young age, made me fall in love with the sport.  I started playing in 5th grade, have been playing club ever since, and have played every position.  My current position as an outside hitter is my true passion.  The last 2 years of both high school and club I have been a 6 rotation player and starting L1.  I attend Joliet Catholic Academy and finished as state runner up in class 3A as a freshman.  This year as a sophomore I lead the varsity team with over 250 kills, received all-conference honors, and earned recognition on several all-area teams.  I am a highly motivated individual who loves competition and I'm very coachable.  Playing at Sports Performance Volleyball Club in a hard working environment motivates me to play at the collegiate level.  Being a student athlete has taught me time management and finding the balance between high academic & athletic standards.  My height doesn't define me, it's what you do with that height, and I choose to play tall.
