Hannah Pacheco '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Hannah and I am a Senior at Lockport Township High school, in Lockport, IL. Ever since I was younger, I have always had aspirations to play volleyball in college. One of the main reasons that I have wanted to play volleyball in college is that I love the sport, not only for it's physical aspects but for it's mental ones too. Volleyball has helped me make friends that I will never forget. It has taught me to be more outgoing and to communicate on and off the court. It has taught me that without team work and hard work, nothing in life would ever get done. Every job you work at, every place you go, there is always going to be someone that you are going to have to talk to and work with whether you like the person or not. Volleyball isn't just a sport that gives you bruises and sore muscles, it's also a sport that gives you life lessons that give you an advantage over others.

The other reason why I have aspirations to play in college is to actually go to college, get a degree so I can work, and come out with having little to no debt. My family barely has the money for me to play club and they definitely don't have the money for me to go to college.  My education is one of the most important things in my life. To be able to play the sport I love while learning and getting an education, would be a dream come true. Now, I know it's not easy to get an athletic scholarship but if I could get an academic scholarship, that would mean just as much or more to me. I work really hard on my grades to remain in high honors and I know what it takes to be a student athlete while maintaining good grades. I'm not sure what I want to major in but I'm willing to put in the effort and time to get my degree while being an awesome player on the court!
