Personal Statement
I truly love playing and watching volleyball. I’m in my 6th club season and play volleyball for Adversity VBC and Providence Catholic HS (Celtics; Girls Catholic Athletic Conference - Red Division) in Illinois and would love to play for a Division 1 school after high school. This past club (2018) season I played up a year with the 17’s and this year I’m playing up again with 18’s.
My enthusiasm for the sport comes through on the court as well as the sidelines. Even though I’m always one of the shortest on the team, I’m often the loudest in cheering on my team. I am a starter and a hard-working leader/captain who keeps my team pumped up during matches and I talk constantly on the court to keep the team positive and communication flow going. I also believe that bonding with my teammates off the court helps strengthen our bonds and play on the court.
I do extra private defense training with Carli Weiler from Volley Chicago. Carli played libero for Michigan State.
My 2017 club team (Lions 15 Blue) won a bid to compete at USAV Nationals in Minneapolis in June 2017. My club team this last season (1st Alliance 17 Black) came in 1st place in the 18’s division in the Great Lakes Power League and also earned a bid at the Windy City Qualifier to the 2018 USAV Nationals in Detroit.
This 2019 season my team Adversity G18 Adidas came in 10th place out of 48 teams in Windy City Power League 17/18’s Open Division. My team will be competing in the American Division at USAV 18’s Nationals in Dallas.
I work hard in school....my Sophomore school year, I took 4 Honors Classes and 1 AP Class. I ended my sophomore year with a cumulative GPA of 4.47. For my Junior year, I’m again taking 4 Honors Classes and 1 AP Class and my cumulative GPA is 4.54. My senior year, I will be taking 2 AP classes and 3 Honors Classes.
