Personal Statement
My name is Alyssa Millan and I am a 5’7” setter/Opposite from Romeoville, Illinois. I started playing volleyball in the fourth grade with an in-house program and then their club program. At that club I always played a level above my age since I was 11 years old. I am a well-rounded player who gives more than 100% and leaves it all on the court. I am always looking for opportunities to better myself as a student-athlete, on and off the court.
I have been named captain on both my club and high schools teams. Being left-handed brings me many advantages in the game and sets me apart, which has led to my second position as an opposite(RS). I enjoy hitting just as much as setting and being aggressive at the net.
My freshman season was exciting and extremely competitive. My team won the Southwest Prairie Conference with an 11-1 record. My JV team during sophomore year also won conference. This year I was on the Varsity team and was promoted to a starter early in the season.
I strongly desire to play volleyball at the college level. I feel that my well-rounded playing and skills would be an asset to any program. I will always give my all to the game and play every point as if it is the last.
Academically, I am equally as dedicated. I have excelled in my studies earning a weighted GPA over 5.00 both my freshman and sophomore years and I am on track to do the same this school year. I have taken honors classes and I am currently enrolled in dual credit classes. I am committed to excelling both academically and athletically through-out my career.
I am excited for what the future holds and eager to compete at the college level!
