Personal Statement
Growing up in a rural community, I’ve played school volleyball since I was eleven years old. After the first year of school volleyball, I realized I had a strong passion for the game and wanted to bring it to a more competitive level. This lead me to play club ball. Over the past five years I have been the team captain at two different clubs for a total of 4 years. So far this season, I have been selected to the all tournament team 3 times out of the last four tournaments my club has played in. My most recent achievement is being selected into the JVA’s college watch list.
Over the years, I have had supportive parents, coaches, and teammates who have pushed me to become the best player, and person I can possibly be. I aspire to break out of my small community, and do something bigger than myself. I want to prove to my family and friends that all of the late night gym sessions have been worth it. That my coaches have done well with me and their time wasn't wasted. Most of all though, I want to prove to myself that if you work hard enough, the dedication will pay off in the end. I have the leadership skills that it takes, and I will work harder than anyone to make my coaches satisfied, and because of this I think I have what it takes to be on your team!
