Personal Statement
I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read my experiences in Volleyball. I’m Lily and volleyball is a major part of my life. I started my first club season at 10 years old. In the Sixth and Seventh grade I didn’t play but I missed the sport so much that I came back. In the Eighthgrade I was more dedicated because I enjoy playing and being part of a team. I quickly realized that volleyball will always be a part of my life. When I returned that season, I became physically stronger and a more competitive player. I could see my own growth and the results were right there on the court.
I play with passion and offer strong support to my teammates. I take direction well and listen to my coaches. I strive to be the hardest working player for my high school, club teams and travel teams. I challenge myself to always do my best and work as hard as I can. With a positive attitude and strong work ethic, I believe I am a strong presence on the court. My time in this sport taught me how to motivate my teammates, push them to be their best, and pick them up when the team is down. Losing is a teachable moment that drives me to work harder during practice and games.
My goal is to continue volleyball through to the collegiate level. I can see my future self always having volleyball in my life. Coaching, mentoring or just helping players reach their personal best. The love I have for the sport of volleyball is indescribable and I look forward to every time I play. I’m truly blessed to have found this sport and I am excited to see what the future will bring.
