Ashley Stuart '18 Recruiting Profile

Six years of competitive gymnastics taught me that dedication, sharp focus, quick response, and mental as well as physical toughness were the keys to becoming a true athlete.  When I discovered volleyball in sixth grade, however, that is when I knew I found my forever sport.  I feel I grew the most as a student athlete my high school sophomore year, when my team succeeded in winning in the post season all the way to semi-state, only to lose a hard fought match that ended our season.  That experience helped me refocus my efforts on becoming the best Defensive Specialist/Libero that my high school team needs.  

I have learned, and I am still learning, the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership.  I’m looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe that I not only have the athletic talent to compete for a college team, but the work ethic, and personal character to become a valuable player at the collegiate level.
